The Lord’s Deeds Are So Amazing, Raising My Grandson From the Dead

One morning in March 2003, my daughter-in-law gave birth to a baby boy. I was extremely happy to have a grandson, and so grateful to the Lord for giving me the lovely boy. However, an unexpected thing happened.

The fourth night after his birth, he was suckling in his mother’s arms. Suddenly, my daughter-in-law anxiously said to my son and me, “Come to see. He stopped eating.” We immediately turned and looked at him. His head and shoulders were quivering, had difficulty breathing, and was almost choking. My son was so afraid and asked me, “Mom, what’s going on? What can we do?” I also trembled with fear and became feeble, thinking, “How could my grandson live if he stops breathing?” I had no idea what to do. I gently pulled his ears and prayed to God in my heart, “O Lord! I know You are almighty. Please show Your great power and actions. I give my grandson to Your hands and I believe You can heal him.” After praying, I thought: Death could occur as soon as several minutes after an adult was not breathing, much less to a little baby. I was so frightened, and said to my son, “Hurry up. Hold the baby. Let’s go to see the doctor.” I continued to pray, “Lord, my grandson is dying. I give his life to Your hands. Please save him.” The doctor opened the door and saw the baby’s face, said gruffly, “It’s so serious! Why did you come so late? His face is getting blue, and he has stopped breathing. Go to the emergency room right now.” I felt more afraid. The doctor put him on a table in the emergency room. Three times of CPR still failed to work it out. He had no response at all, and my son and I couldn’t help but cry. I just couldn’t believe that such a cute baby just died in the blink of an eye. I was in great pain and despair. All I could do was call out to God constantly. CPR was invalid, then the doctor held two feet of my grandson, making him upside down, giving him a series of spankings. But even when his bottom got black, he still didn’t give any response. Then the doctor let him lie flat. My grandson’s head slipped sideways, some water flowing out of his mouth, and his eyes closed immediately. I went limp when I saw this; it was so heart-wrenching. “Has my grandson truly died?” The doctor listened to his heart with a stethoscope, and then said for sure, “The baby is gone. His heart has stopped beating.” His sentence made my son and I start crying loudly. After a while, many doctors gathered in the emergency room. I fought back my tears and asked the doctor, “Is there nothing you can do?” He told me, “His heart has stopped beating. There is nothing we can do.” Other doctors also said, “CPR and spanking didn’t work. We won’t give up if there is another way. We have tried everything, and we are out of ideas.” At that time, a doctor called a guy and said to my son, “You can give him 20 Yuan and ask him to deal with the baby.” My son was going to pay. That was a great grief to me. But I remembered a miracle the Lord Jesus performed. Jairus’ daughter was dead at 12 years of age, and Jairus asked the Lord Jesus to save her, “He said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleeps. … And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise. And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat” (Luke 8:52-55). There was another miracle. Lazarus stank because he had been dead for four days. But after the Lord Jesus said, “Lazarus, come forth” (Luke 11:43), he then came out of the grave. All the facts prove that the Lord has the authority to raise the dead. My grandson just expired. I still believed that he could come back from the dead with God’s treatment, because God has authority, and His ability soars higher than the heavens. I believed that my grandson wouldn’t die, so I stopped my son. “Hold on. Let me pray to the Lord again. If the Lord performs a miracle, the baby will be alive, if He doesn’t do it, I won’t complain.” The doctors all laughed at me, “The baby has stopped breathing. OK, go pray to Your Lord and see if he can come back.” I didn’t care how they mocked me, I firmly believed that the Lord is so mighty, so I earnestly prayed to Him loudly, “Dear Lord Jesus, You gave me a lovely grandson, and this is Your blessing. He is dead today, and I give him to Your hands, because human life is controlled by You. With Your permission, he can live on. If You give him life, he can live on. So please grant him life and show Your great power.” After praying, I felt much more released and less afraid. Unexpectedly, my grandson began crying, and her blue face turned red soon, and his eyes were able to move. My son and I were so excited to see my grandson come back. We both were too thrilled to speak. We held the baby, and said emotionally, “Thank the Lord! Thank the Lord. His power is amazing.” All the doctors also felt unbelievable, and said in amazement, “It’s a huge miracle. I never saw such a thing. If she didn’t pray, the baby would be thrown away.” “Yes, prayer can bring a dead baby to life. That’s a miracle.” I told them, “The Lord is powerful and authoritative. So please pray to Him when you treat patients.” Some of them nodded and said yes. I was full of gratitude to the Lord and kept thanking Him in my heart. It was the Lord who saved my grandson. My son held the baby, and said happily, “Thank the Lord. Without His treatment, my son would die already.” We went to the ward to see my daughter-in-law, who was also weeping. My son gave the baby to her, and holding her boy, she was just crying and smiling. After learning what happened, she became more emotional and kept saying, “Thank the Lord! Thank the Lord!”

Later, the news of my grandson’s resurrection was learned by everyone in the hospital. Almost all the patients and families said, “The Lord indeed has great power. It’s so good to believe in the Lord.” On the morning of the second day, a birth attendant said to me, “Why are you so good in your belief? I heard what happened last night. Your grandson died, but your prayer brought him back.” I said, “It’s not that I am good. It’s because the Lord has great power and authority. The glory is given to God.”

From then on, my daughter-in-law also began to believe in the Lord. Our whole family is so grateful to the Lord’s great power. This event allowed me to personally witness and experience the Lord’s love. My faith has been strengthened and I am resolved to follow the Lord to the end no matter what I will encounter in the future.
