Inspired by a Businessman’s Letter to God

My friend told me a story: A businessman is flattered by his relatives and friends and receives a lot of help when he is successful in business. However, his company goes bankrupt afterward; all his relatives and friends get away from him. When there is no way out, he thinks about death. Before he is going to die, he writes to God for help with his last hope. Amazingly, the postman, who believes in God, receives God’s instruction in his dream. He then prepares food, clothes, bike and other things for the businessman, making him feel the love of God. From then on, the businessman begins to follow God.

God’s love is indeed so deep and hidden. When the business is riding high, surrounded by people, he refuses God’s gospel; but when he becomes shabby, alienated by his relatives and friends, he asks help from God; God arranges another man to help him, giving him love, leading him to God’s house.

I am really touched by God’s love. But when I look at today’s society, I find that people all chase money, care about benefits, and easily refuse God’s gospel because they are busy making money. When we become rich and powerful, people around support, praise, and flatter us; but when we are frustrated, the flattering people move away. The indifference and inconstancy of human relationships are so obvious. They can take our faith and courage to live on. Needless to say, there is no true love among humans.

But God has been loving each of us, no matter whether we are rich or poor, or even impoverished, or overburdened by disease. When we call on God sincerely, God will answer us, comfort us when we are sad, encourage us when we are negative, and support us when we are depressed. In a word, He gives us practical help when we are in a difficult situation, and grants us the courage to live on when we are in great adversity. So in the world, only God has paid every price selflessly for human beings, making no demands and requiring nothing of humans in return. He has been watching over us silently by our side. In God’s love for us, there is no demand and nothing impure, which is decided by God’s essence. God’s love is something none of us corrupt humans possess.

Therefore, when God’s gospel comes upon you, please don’t refuse it. God is waiting for us to turn back around. So let’s stop being busy for the sake of money and fame, come to listen to God’s voice, and allow His love to accompany us, and guide us forward.
